Captain Matthew Formosa is a Maltese native and consequently knows the seas around the Maltese Islands like the back of his hand. His main objective is to guide his clients to their destinations in the safest way possible. He has spent his whole life on the ocean sailing all types of vessels. From the wild Atlantic Ocean to the tropical Caribbean Sea, from ports in the USA to almost every port in Europe.
In 2019 Captain Matthew became the owner of the Mermaid Cruises company and since then he has done his utmost to ensure every client has an enjoyable boat cruise on the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. A fun, friendly enjoyable atmosphere is what he aims for on every boat tour for every passenger.
Captain Matthew enjoys water sports of all types including, surfing, swimming, free diving, cliff diving, scuba diving and snorkeling. This means that when you book a tour with us, he can direct you to the best spots to take part in these activities.
